Industry standards and regulations demand that cleanroom wall surfaces are smooth, easy to clean, durable, impervious to contamination, and resistant to scratches and dents. All cleanroom wall systems must be installed seamlessly to prevent cracks, gaps, and fissures where contaminants can collect.
Frequent activities occur in cleanroom settings; carts, furniture and equipment is regularly moved around and a coated wall system can chip, flake or crack, causing costly repairs or even shutdowns.
The traditional approach has been to use epoxy paint over drywall. Unfortunately, this can be problematic in addressing modern sanitary and durability issues, as epoxy-painted walls require constant maintenance and repairs. Another approach is to use FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) panels. FRP panels use fiberglass filaments in the resin. If FRP panels are scratched or dented these filaments could be released into the cleanroom. Our PVC panels are made with just PVC and will not shed any particulates into the cleanroom.

Takiron IVY-ONE cPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride) wall cladding system provides users with the cleanest possible environment due to its high-density, non-porous construction, smooth surface finish and natural chemical resistance. The Takiron IVY-ONE system is made from IVY-ONE 573®, a durable material with tremendous impact resistance and durability. It won’t flake, chip or crack. Once the panels are heat-welded together, it becomes a seamless configuration. IVY-ONE is manufactured to withstand strong sporicidal cleaners as well as harsh chemical cleaning agents. It is even strong enough to handle high-pressure washing and direct steam.
One of the biggest advantages of using Takiron IVY-ONE is it’s one of the few wall panel systems that is FM 4882 approved. FM 4882 is the standard developed by FM Global for products used as interior cleanroom wall materials. The standard combines FM 4880 and ASTM E84 standards into one harmonized standard for pharmaceutical, biotech, and food industries. FM 4882-approved panels are low-smoke emittance and will not allow self-propagation of a fire.

AM-Clad PVCu (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride) panels have a smooth, durable, hygienic, and easy-to-clean surface that helps users meet demanding regulatory requirements, maximize production time and provides superior levels of hygiene and infection control. AM-Clad offers two types of PVCu panels to meet different levels of protection – Hygienic Panels (in standard or decorative) and Antimicrobial Panels. All of these Panels are ASTM-E84 Class A smoke and fire rated. These panels can be heat-welded using a color-matched vinyl weld rod, cold-welded using silicone caulking or sealed with plastic Divider/Edge Trims. This process creates a smooth, seamless surface that ensures there is no place to harbor contaminants.
AM-Clad’s PVCu Hygienic Wall system is offered in a variety of colors and patterns to allow customization to distinguish each room. The PVC Wall Panels are also available in different thickness to match the level of protection required.

The COVID pandemic has taught us that it is more important than ever to protect employees and clients from the spread of bacteria and viruses. Antimicrobial is defined as any substance that demonstrates the ability to resist, inhibit and prevent the growth of microbes such as bacteria, mold, fungi and viruses. Antimicrobial should not be confused with Antibacterial. Antibacterial is different in that it is only effective against bacteria. Antimicrobial is effective against a much wider spectrum of microbes.
AM-Clad’s Antimicrobial Wall Panels are PVCu panels that are infused with billions of minuscule particles of silver ions during the manufacturing process. The silver ions are invisible to the naked eye and are dispersed throughout the panel, not just on the surface. These silver ions provide the extra level of antimicrobial protection that traditional PVCu panels cannot.
