Cleanroom Carts and Trolleys

A cart makes it easy to transport tools, equipment, chemicals and supplies from one area to the next. SPS CleanTech offers a selection of cleanroom carts that allow you to store supplies and equipment and transport them as needed.

Our carts and trolleys are made from 304 or 316 stainless steel or PVC plastic. All carts are durable and easy to sterilize and clean. That said, 316 stainless steel has a higher nickel content and the addition of molybdenum. As a result, the material is better able to resist damage from acids, iodides, bromides and other chemicals than 304 stainless steel. We offer several other options for cleanroom carts and trolleys, including:

  • Fully welded designs with a variety of edges
  • 304 or 316L solid Stainless Steel, wire frame, PVC plastic
  • Non-marking casters (swivel, locking)
  • Light, medium or heavy-duty weight capacity
  • Multiple shelving or drawers below the work surface
  • Compartmentalized for storage of chemical or media bottles

Key Features of Cleanroom Carts

We can create a cart or trolley to your specifications. When choosing a custom cart, some features to consider include:

  • Ergonomic design: The cart should be comfortable to maneuver and situated at a height that makes it easy to reach the items you need.
  • Casters for mobility: You may need to transport the trolley between cleanrooms or from one side of the room to the other. Replaceable casters for easy cleaning, maintenance or replacement.
  • Solid or perforated surfaces: A solid surface provides a durable work area, while a perforated surface can improve airflow.
  • Durable construction: Our carts and trolleys are built to last and to withstand the rigors of the cleanroom environment.

Carts for Cleanrooms

When choosing a cleanroom trolley, it’s important to understand the differences between utility carts and tool carts. Tool carts tend to be specialized and intended for use with specific equipment. Utility carts often have more flexible usage.

Utility Carts

Utility carts typically consist of two or more open shelves. They are designed to hold various supplies and materials, including storage bins. Utility carts often have raised ledges to keep parts and materials from falling off of the edge during transportation.

Tool Carts

Tool carts are more specialized than utility carts. They may be designed to transport and carry certain types of equipment, such as semiconductors, or more generalized tools. Instead of shelves, a tool cart often has a series of drawers that may be locked to restrict access.

Choosing the Right Cleanroom Cart or Trolley

The right cleanroom trolley allows you to organize your equipment and supplies so you can work more efficiently.

When choosing a cart or trolley, consider the following features:

  • Size: The ideal cart will be sized appropriately and capable of holding all the materials you need it to. It should also be the right height to allow you easy access to supplies.
  • Shelves or drawers: The right storage configuration for your cart depends on its function. Drawers can be preferable for smaller or sharp tools. Shelves are better suited for storage bins and items you need to access frequently.
  • Construction: Look for cleanroom trolleys that are built to last. Signs of durable construction include stainless steel material, which can withstand repeated exposure to harsh cleaning products.
  • Tops: We also have perimeter ledges on selected mobile carts to prevent spills and retain other chemicals for safe transportation.
